Improve Your Sales: Ask Your Customers How

Open Your Ears and Consumers Will Open Their Wallets

Here’s a novel idea: if you want to know what will convince your consumers buy, ask them. Sometimes, life is just that simple. Appliances Online did this and saw a 9.5 percent increase in sales. They gathered videos of users interacting with and responding to pages, and based on the data, they made changes to their call to action button and integrated product videos. Oh, and they hired copywriters to create unique written content for their products, helping them stand out in the SERPS and telling readers why the products were useful.

Fashion a New Type of Magazine

The world is changing. (Surprise! Pull out your phones and tweet that amazing news.) And the world of print and media is changing more rapidly than weather forecasts for the Pacific Northwest. According to an article in PowerRetail, the formerly separate arenas of fashion magazines and e-commerce are beginning to merge. The magazine Esquire has teamed up with JCPenney to create a new men’s apparel site. Esquire included an insert in its September issue with barcodes next to clothing so customers can go straight to that new site to purchase. Will the world of editorial media last a little longer with this new model? Will it still be considered editorial content, or just another form of sales pitch?
