While social media might still be more of an art than a science, there are plenty of practical steps companies can take to be successful in this realm. Econsultancy‘s Patricio Robles recently debunked some common myths companies have about social media and offers up some advice.
For example, think you can slap together a highly effective Twitter campaign and then sit back and feel the love? Think again.
“Coming up with the right messages (read: ones that are effective) for social channels usually requires a good deal of skill and effort. In short, it’s a lot more difficult than sitting on the sidelines analyzing the last 50 tweets about your company, which may produce warm fuzzies but few tangible gains,” Robles writes.
